Our 10 secret Roblox tips

Ten habits few Roblox players know about

These tips won't magically earn you Robux, and that's exactly the point. They help you keep your account, better control your spending and play more comfortably. Most of them take just a few minutes.

A well-configured account means more time to play and fewer worries.

1. Turn on 2-Step Verification with an app

It's the setting that best protects your account, even if your password leaks. To turn it on:

  • Open Settings, then the Security section.
  • Choose an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or another) rather than email.
  • Write down the backup codes Roblox gives you and store them somewhere other than your phone.

2. Add an email address and verify it

Without a verified email, recovering an account becomes very difficult. In Account Info:

  • Add an address you'll always have access to, then click the confirmation link you receive.
  • Add a phone number if you like: it's a second way to recover the account.

3. Spot a fake Roblox site before you log in

Fake login pages, copied down to the last detail, are a classic trap. Two habits are enough:

  • Read the address: it must end in roblox.com, right before the first slash. A changed letter or a word added after roblox.com means it's fake.
  • Never log in from a link received in a private message: type the address yourself or use the app.

4. Choose who can message you and join you

In Settings, under Privacy, each option is set separately:

  • Who can send you messages.
  • Who can chat with you during a game.
  • Who can join you in a game. Limiting these options to your friends is a good starting point.

5. Close sessions you forgot about

Logged in at a friend's place or on a shared computer? You can cut those connections remotely:

  • In Settings, under Security, use the option that logs out all other sessions.
  • Then change your password if you have the slightest doubt.

6. Keep an eye on your Robux

Three habits help you avoid purchases you'll regret:

  • Check your transaction history to see where your Robux went.
  • Try an item on your avatar before buying it.
  • Parents: set a monthly spending limit and turn on alerts in Parental Controls.

7. Never download a “script” or an “executor”

Software that promises to let you cheat in games breaks Roblox's rules and can get your account banned. Many also hide a program that steals passwords. Be just as careful with “codes” to paste into your browser: never paste any.

8. Take control of the camera

Mastering the camera changes everything, especially in obstacle courses. On a computer:

  • Hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse to rotate around your avatar.
  • Use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out.
  • Turn on Shift Lock in the game settings, if the experience allows it: your avatar then faces the direction of the camera.
  • Completely new? Read our guide to getting started on Roblox first.

9. Block and report without hesitation

A player who is pushy, insulting or asking for personal information? There are two tools:

  • Report, from the game menu or the player's profile. Reports are reviewed against the Roblox Community Standards.
  • Block: the person can no longer send you messages.

10. Parents: link your account to your child's

Roblox lets a parent manage their child's settings remotely:

  • In the child's account settings, under Parental Controls, follow the steps to add a parent.
  • You'll then be able to limit daily playtime, spending and chat, and see your child's friends list.

Bonus: a gift card is redeemed on one page only

Official Roblox gift cards are redeemed at roblox.com/redeem, once you're logged in to your account.

A site that asks for your password to “check” a card, or a stranger who asks you to pay in gift cards, is trying to rob you.

These ten habits take little time and save you a lot of trouble. Share them with your friends who are just starting out, and if you have a tip to add, suggest it to the Spirit community on Discord!
